Foster Eligible Animals

There are a variety of foster opportunities available at Southern Pines including fostering neonatal kittens, nursing moms and babies, underage puppies, or even medical fostering for skin conditions or surgery recovery. Each animal on this page has an urgent need to find a foster home- for more information about an individual animal please contact our foster coordinators at [email protected] or come by the shelter in person to meet them and get them home more quickly! For more information on fostering in general please visit our Foster page or join our Facebook Group to be a part of the foster community and see the amazing animals our fosters are helping to save.
Make a Foster Pick-up Appointment
Please be mindful that fostering is first come, first serve. Making an appointment for a specific animal does not reserve or hold the animal. The eligibility of the animals below is subject to change based on their medical and behavioral needs and the movement of animals out of the shelter to foster or adoptive homes.

View our fosterable animals on our website once again!

  1. Go to the Adoptable Dogs or Adoptable Cats pages on the Southern Pines website.
  2. Click the "Attributes" button and select "Needs Foster" from the drop down list.
  3. Ta-da! The site will now generate a list of all of our fosterable dogs or cats!

You can also do the same process but choose "Dog's Day Out" instead of "Needs Foster" to see all of our available adventure pups.
