Customer Service Representative - Job Description
Specific duties of Customer Service Representatives include, but are not limited to:
• Duties prior to opening
• Interact with visitors
• Enter all paperwork into the computer in a timely manner.
• Ensure that animal records/surgery paperwork/any other paperwork is correctly filed.
• Submit Science Diet report twice weekly.
• Maintain cleanliness of office throughout the business day.
• Complete all tasks on daily and weekly checklists.
• Report low office supplies to Shelter Manager.
• Duties prior to opening
- Assist with morning cleaning/decluttering of offices, lobby, break room, and hallways
- Take out all garbage
- mop all floors thoroughly with bleach
- Ensure all animals housed in the office have clean housing, appropriate bedding, and fresh water at all times
- Complete a daily morning walk-through to update animal locations/conditions/illnesses on the white board in the shelter office.
- Make sure all dogs have an up-to-date kennel card.
- Process any paperwork that needs to be entered into the system or filed.
• Interact with visitors
- Answer phone calls and assist the public; must have a friendly, helpful demeanor at all times when interacting with visitors and volunteers.
- Schedule surrender appointments
- Speak knowledgeably about Southern Pines policies, programs, fees, and public resources.
- Help direct visitors to animals for adoption, foster, etc.
- Counsel and process adoptions and fosters
- Always uphold the shelter’s values and mission statement during interactions with the public and with your fellow team mates.
