Once you send it back to us, we will keep your application on file for 90 days and a staff member will get in touch with you when your perfect companion arrives at the shelter. 

Many of our shelter pets have gone on to do amazing things like being trained as therapy dogs, getting careers as diabetic alert dogs, and providing emotional support for Wounded Warriors. There is no limit to what shelter pets can do! We want to always encourage our community to adopt, and we think this program will help us more efficiently match up adopters with their ideal companions.

Here at Southern Pines Animal Shelter, we know that finding the right pet for your lifestyle is important for both your own and your new pet’s happiness. It may take a little time, but we hope to match you with your perfect companion, and we will do everything we can to find your new friend as quickly as possible. Please fill out the form below and an adoption coordinator will contact you when an animal that matches your wishlist arrives at the shelter. Please keep in mind that purebred/highly desirable pets are oftentimes adopted quickly upon arriving at the shelter, and we may not have time to contact you before that happens. Also, keep in mind that each criteria that you add to your wishlist will make it more difficult to find a match for you, so try to narrow down your specifications to just the ones that are super important to you. We keep applications on file for 90 days so if you haven't heard from us in that time, we recommend submitting a new request form!
